I found this picture in an article and thought it spoke volumes. It's a photo of Liz Phair... I thought of it as if they're trying to censor what she has to say, which I think is huge for musicians. I really liked how it came out, although a lot of people have been raising their eyebrows at my choice of subject, but hey, to each his own lol
Time: 3hrs (give or take)
Used: H,2H,2HB,8B, white conte crayon
thats really cool...you do the face very beautifully, even if she is meant to look a little crazylike--but thats not you, thats the photograph...yea you know whati mean....her nose looks especially real. the bones in her neck are looking really good too.
I either submitted or deleted my last comment too early. Either way, I'll do it again to be sure.
I just said, for being 19 you really have a good handle on realism. I like traditional art, and it's refreshing to see an artist not going starfields, abstracts, and other things.
The only thing about this picture is I think the things that are binding the girl look strange. I don't know if they're supposed to be flat and uneven. But I think regular looking hemp rope would have looked better, or something around those lines. Something with texture and shading like the rest of the picture. Still though, kick ass work.
Unbelievably well drawn!! Great work I gotta say - very realistic

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
