I can happily say that this is the most "art active" I've been in years and it feels pretty good. I've managed to finish two pieces in one month, which I never thought I could get back to. I feel like through my absence here I've lost touch with the art world and I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I've submitted into a few art groups but am awaiting acceptance. What other groups does everyone belong to or suggest? How do you keep up with other artists? I need a new art family :) Hoping to get back in touch with everyone and make new friends!

I feel obligated to update my little journal. I think the last time I did was October! Being an artist and a mom is much different than just being an artist. I'm constantly trying to split my time but now that my boys are getting older they understand when mommy is drawing and it makes things a bit easier. They're even getting interested in it themselves, maybe I have a few budding artists on my hands! I'm working on another commission with another to follow. I have been lucky enough to have a few commissions during the last couple of months. I always like doing commissions. Not even for the money (which is always nice) but for the reaction I receive when I give them the finished product and knowing it's something they are going to look at and enjoy and have be part of their families for possibly years to come. But being a commission artist kind of puts me into a solitary category. It's not something that appeals to the masses, as generally the picture someone chooses as a commission is personal, something that is significant or special to them but to anyone else viewing the piece is just another
